Google confirms bug affecting ads and analytics reporting

Google has confirmed that there are errors affecting advertising and analytics product reporting. The issue is still ongoing and there is no word on when it will be fixed.

Google’s advertising liaison Ginny Marvin confirmed the vulnerability at 1:48 PM ET on July 15.

If the bug affects you, you will see no or incorrect data when checking your ads and analytics reports.

Here’s an example shared by Baruch Labunski, CEO of Ranksecure:

In response to his question about when the issue will be resolved, Marvin said there is currently no update on the timing.

However, you can monitor issues with Google Ads Status Dashboard.

At the time of publication of this article, service outages were reported for the following services:

  • AdMob
  • AdSense
  • Google Ads Manager
  • Display & Video 360
  • Google Ads
  • Google Analytics
  • Search Ads 360

The full details of the outage are not yet known, although it appears to be limited to reports.

This means that Google Ads campaigns are still running; data collection is interrupted.

We’ll update this article when Google shares more details.

Google mistakes of the day

July 15 marked a rare coincidence of Google bugs.

In addition to errors affecting Google Ads & Analytics reporting, an ongoing issue with Google Search is also affecting the indexing of new content.

We’re still waiting for a solution to both of these issues; an update from Google is expected soon.
